  • Has anybody else been told "You have be able to rewire your brain?"

    My psychologist said. I don't know how you did it. But, you have been able to rewire your brain. The first six years of my life was in a passive state with very little afffection only shown towards animals. age six a near drowning erases my memory, removes the the affection and the tramatic experience changes my mental state from passive to being active.
    However, through out most of my adolescents my mental state was years behind other kids my age. When it came to connecting with other people's feelings and emotions, there wasn't anything inside to make me feel sad, joy, fear, being humiliated, or compassion.
    So, my psychologist along with others and doctors can't reason with it. The answer is how a person uses their mind.
  • how did I over-come my mental retardation?

    Psychologists in different fields of practice have a hard time understanding how I did it. A Pediatrician, who has never seen any of her mentally challenged patients ever reach my level. People working with autistic children are lost when they see what I can do. I didn't have a mind to take me away from my activities. When a child learns how to say no, can't, or use the word "why" to get out of doing things. This will also sit them up for failure down the road. Such as to the reasons I can't learn, I'm not that smart, or I don't like....,
    If, I had a higher functioning mind, I wouldn't be who I am today. I am 51 years old and still curious and fascinated about exploring new things. The people around I have known for years are still the same as they were 20 years ago. The day you stop listening to your thoughts. That will be the day you walk out of your shell.

    Since, 2001, I have been asking people living with mental illnesses and without, The person you are being is this the real you? How would you know the real you? Have you ever tried to find out how you became you? Are you acting on your best intentions or for other people? Do you need recognition and attention when doing something? How did you end up in this situation? Know this thoughts and thinking will not turn off a panic tic or get rid of your anxiety. It requires action, meaning get outside and find something you have never done before and continue to do things you have never done before.
    The mind will run wild as long as you continue to repeat the things from days past. Explore your five senses. Take risk! Be curious and fascinated about everything around you.

  • I'm stuck

    Lately I've been feeling stuck, like I'm not improving. I'm not getting worse either. But it seems like I've been doing better. But I'm not sure if it's because I am getting better and the working on myself is actually doing something. Or I'm only feeling like I'm doing better because the main trigger for my anxiety and depression is momentarily gone. I just don't know what to do. The working on myself is expressing my emotions and feelings more, and trying to reach out to my friends. I've been figuring out what Happens during an attack and what helps. I know myself pretty well in that area. But I want to be able to do more then just coping with it. I want it to get less. I only have no idea how
