Does anyone else experience anxiety while driving?

I have overcome a lot of my anxieties in the past year, but one I can't seem to shake is the anxiety I experience while behind the wheel, so I don't drive at all. I got my license last year in a burst of strength and determination to find I never use it and my boyfriend drives me everywhere.... I don't wanna put myself or others in danger but I want to overcome this as well. Any suggestions?

I'm the same way as you... I took my driving lessons and test while I felt I could, but after passing I've never driven since, I don't want to risk wrecking someone elses or my own car, or putting other people at risk. But I did just eventually start accepting that I won't cause an accident just because I got in a car, I just felt comfortable with the knowledge thinking "I'm good enough where if something goes wrong I can control it" such as the instinct to slam on the brakes if you feel something is wrong. I think it is good advice what Desireeat said, try driving down the street, then around the block, then around the block twice, and so on and so on, until you feel more confident in your abilities.

I'm pretty confident in my ability to drive, my problem is that I have control issues and when I'm out on the road with other drivers I'm not 100% in control of what happens to me. My boyfriend says I'm a great driver and trusts me but I have problems trusting myself and I know it's almost inevitable to get in an accident one day because other people just drive so recklessly.. I don't know maybe i'll get behind the wheel again and go to the store and drive instead of my boyfriend this coming week...... /:
